Collage of cut-out newspaper articles containing information about soldiers related to the Portuguese American War Veterans Post 1. This page contains the articles "Badly Wounded, Trapped in Tank at Iwo Jima, Danvers Soldier Survives," "Pvt. Gordon Hall, Salem, Lost Life in Battle Area," "Bettencourts, Silvas, and Mellos Lead Names in Service," "Five Nations Unite to Make This Group" (about five inseparable Peabody soldiers: Corp. Tom Mullane, Gus Antonio, Bill Sawchuk, Tony Silva, and Tony Silvanowicz), and "Now in Belgium" (about Pfc. Anthony M. Silva's service overseas). The collage includes two additional article clippings about Roger F. Mello's promotion to Sergeant and John Chaves' memorial service.
