Newspaper clippings from the 1940s regarding soldiers whose families were members of the PAWV Post 1 or who were members themselves. These clippings were compiled in a scrapbook-like format on black paper. These clippings contain stories about U.S. Coast Guard air photographer William J. George, who was killed on July 31st, 1940 in a plane crash in Pennsylvania; and a visit from Dr. João Antonio de Bianchi, the Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary, who came to Peabody on May 6th for a local ball.

A duplicate photocopy version of the William J. George article has been added to accommodate for the missing words in the damaged original.
