Portuguese Benefit Society committee book (1928)

The "Sportiva" committee's meeting minutes from September to October of 1928. The first page of the book lists the members and the officers of the committee. At the first committee meeting, the members discussed holding a raffle with 1000 tickets and prizes. Money that was earned for donations and ticket costs was also tallied up. At the next meeting, a sub-committee was created to investigate the price of radio shows.

The following meeting involved the sub-committee for the raffle event sharing how many tickets they have sold for the event, how many donations they've earned, expenses spent, and their overall profit. Likewise, the committee proposed to have the new room opened on November 4th at 2 P.M., and attend a radio show interview ("Smack Talk") on November 2nd. During the final meeting on October 31st, the committee proposed buying refreshments for the event and Syrino Bettencourt was chosen to take care of the job. Ticket sales and profit are tallied ad calculated as well as their expenses, such as the radio show and additional games and entertainment for the event. The final page of the book lists the donors for the event.
