Recording of the Portugal Day Celebration on June 10th, 1996. The video opens with a view of Lowell's City Hall and the surrounding areas of the city. The parade is led by the organizer of the event, followed by Miss Day of Portugal 1996, Centro de Assistencia Social Adventista (C.A.S.A.), Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts from Lowell, the Rancho Folclórico Juventude Unida de Lowell dance troupe, the Holy Ghost Queen and her ladies in waiting, Irmandade da Santissima Trindade, and various other participants and members of the Portuguese community. The parade comes to an end in front of Lowell City Hall, where the organizer gives a speech thanking everyone for attending. Councilor Caulfield then gives a speech about the Portuguese community in Lowell and the history of Portugal Day, which is followed by another speech about the history of Portuguese immigration in Lowell. The Holy Ghost Queen gives a speech as well, and then the ceremony ends with the raising of the Portuguese flag and a performance of the American national anthem.
