Description
Footage of workers making shoes through various stages of production at the Paris Shoe Company located on 95 Bridge St. in Lowell, MA. The company was founded in 1948 by wife and husband duo Florence and Edward Paris, who ran the shoe company until it closed in 1981. Many Portuguese immigrants and other residents of Lowell worked here and are featured in the footage, including Filomena Mello working with a sewing machine and Dimas Espínola. The original video is only 17 minutes long and loops over itself in this video. Additional footage at the end shows the workers socializing and scenes of the city of Lowell.
