Footage of the Festa de São João parade in Lowell, MA.

The video starts with footage of some of the children in the parade being seated in horse-drawn carriages and on llamas. A band plays traditional Portuguese music as all the participants get ready for the parade. The parade begins, led by the children pulled by various animals, then the Rainha de São João for 1999, the Rainha and Dama from the Festas do Loreto in 1998, the Irmadade da Santissima Trindade with the prince and princess of the parade, the past years' Rainhas de São João, and traditional dancers and musicians along with several others. The parade ends with a speech by the organizers of the parade and the Rainha de São João. Members of the parade are then seen dancing to modern and traditional Portuguese music. The festival ends with a musical performance.
