Description

Footage of the Bodo de Leite parade as a part of the Great Feast of the Holy Ghost in Lowell, MA.

The video begins with footage of men gearing up oxen to pull a parade float with an alcohol cask resting on it. Other livestock, such as goats, are shown marching in the parade freely or pulling along chicken in cages. Folclórico groups, like the Rancho Folclórico Juventude Unida de Lowell and the Rancho Folclórico do Alto Minho groups, march in the parade alongside other community groups and musical bands. The parade finishes and parade members distribute bread to other participants and audience members while others carry pastries and pour the alcohol from the cask. Finally, the video ends with footage of folclórico dances and more camera shots of the food and animals present.
