Letter from Ellen F. Lynch to Henrique José Reed da Silva

Contains references to the Saint Anthony choir and to "O Loving Pelican" [Bishop da Silva's composition]. Lynch describes situations that have occurred among the faithful people of Lowell. She gives an account of Cardinal [Patrick Joseph] Hayes going to Rome and recalls his hope that Bishop da Silva might meet him and use his offer of aid for his endeavors.

She notes that a friend has been summoned along with others from the city of Lowell to appear before a grand jury. She asks Bishop da Silva for prayers, mentioning that the trial will take place in January and explains that prison may be a possible fate for some.

She expresses her desire to see him again. She sends good wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
