Title

Letter from Albinus Kane to Henrique José Reed da Silva

Date

1925-11-30

Description

Albinus Kane laments that he could not visit Bishop da Silva more frequently while he was hospitalized at Saint Vincent's hospital (hospital de São Vicente) in New York. He mentions that he had little availability to leave due to his duties as a (Passionist) priest and his healing duties in the Immaculate Conception parish (paróquia da Imaculada Conceição).

He asks Bishop da Silva about his stay in Lisbon and his possible trip to Rome. He realizes that he would like to have a letter and an address to maintain contact, to be able to receive postcards from the places he's visited and, additionally, to obtain an autographed photograph of the Cardinal-Patriarch of Lisbon [António Mendes Belo].

He mentions that he did not expect Bishop da Silva to leave America before December.

The letter was sent from Jamaica, New York, and was delivered to the Apostolic Nunciature in Lisbon.
