Title
Letter from the Apostolic Nuncio in Portugal, Sebastiano Nicotra, to the Apostolic Delegate for the United States, Monsignor Pietro Fumasoni Biondi
Date
1925-03-26
Description
The Nuncio [the Archbishop of Heraclea in Europa] tells the Apostolic Delegate that Bishop da Silva has asked him to explain his life journey to him: the reason for his resignation from the bishopric of Mylapore, the subsequent granting of his title of Archbishop of Trajanopolis, the pension awarded for his work and its suspension (after the 1910 revolution in Portugal), and his move to the United States of America. Thus, on behalf of Bishop da Silva, the Nuncio asks that the Delegate intervenes to help find Bishop da Silva an occupation suitable for his episcopal position in the United States.
