Description
Cardinal O'Connell confirms the receipt of Bishop da Silva's letter about his intent to return to Portugal due to the better conditions the country now finds itself in. He accepts Bishop da Silva's resignation as the pastor of Saint Anthony's Church (igreja de Santo António) in Lowell. He states that he is happy that, during Bishop da Silva's stay in the diocese (of Boston), he has done a good service in the spiritual edification of the Portuguese people.
