Receipt and Letter for Payment of Work on St. Thomas's Cathedral in São Tomé de Meliapor

The receipt proving that the bishop of Mylapore, Henrique José Reed da Silva, disbursed three thousand rupees as part of the payment for the works on the cathedral of São Tomás (St. Thomas) in São Tomé de Meliapor. A letter accompanied the receipt. In this, J. A. Power (captain in the reserve of the Army Corps of Engineers) refers to the date indicated by the contractor for the majority of the work's completion (March 28th). He then clarified that the painting and finishings will be completed after Holy Week.
