Provision by Henrique José Reed da Silva, the Bishop of Mylapore

This provision encompasses the territories that fall under the jurisdiction of the Bishop of Mylapore, following the reversal notes, dated October 14, 1891, to the concordat of 1886, observed between Portugal and the Holy See. These territories are: the distrctis or "taluqs" of Tanjore (Thanjavur), Manargudi, Negapatam (Nagapattinam), Tiruturaipondi (Thiruthuraipoondi), and Pattucotah (Pattukkottai), which were previously integrated into the diocese of Tiruchirapalli, as well as the churches and missions that until then were under the authority of the Archbishop of Goa, Patriach of the East Indies—particularly in the area of ​​the former apostolic vicariate of Maduré (Madurai).

This provision also includes administrative rules to be applied to the aforementioned new area of ​​the bishopric. Beyond these new appointments, this provision is composed of directives for marriages. At the end of the provision, in the place designated for signatures, in addition to the signature of Bishop da Silva appears the signature of his secretary, Monsignor Jerónimo Dias de Sousa.
