Bibliographical Notes of Henrique José Reed da Silva

Contains personal and professional information relevant to Bishop da Silva's life. Among this information is indication of his date of his birth (1854-01-19) and his priestly ordination (1879-12-[20]), the period of his stay in the diocese of Angola and Congo—first, as the parish priest of the parish of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, a hospital chaplain, and a seminary professor; and then, as provisor and vicar general of the aforementioned bishopric (1881), governor of the diocese, precentor of the Sé Catedral (1882), and, additionally, Vicar Capitular. Having been named prelate of the prelature of Mozambique and appointed titlular bishop of Philadelphia (1884), he stayed the course until arriving in Mozambique, where he assumed the government of the providence (1885).

These documents also include his appointments as coadjutor to the primate archbishop of the East (1885) and as the bishop of Mylapore (1886-1887). Finally, he reports on his trip, accompanied by priests, to Bombay.
