Temperance parade on Merrimack Street

A temperance demonstration protests against granting alcohol licenses in Lowell and endeavors to create interest in temperance. This parade was arranged by members of the Flying Squadron permanent committee. Pictured here are members of The Good Templars, carrying signs that say "We Favor No License." The sign written in Portuguese reads: "Kill your addiction if you want you and all of your family to be happy."
