Description

Peter (Pedroso) Picanso was born in the Azores in 1867 to Azorean parents Manuel C. Picanso and Maria Violanta. After immigrating to Lowell, Massachusetts, he worked as a mill laborer and an operative worker. He married Maria Correira Picanso and had two children: Maria Picanso (later Mary P. Braga) and Juan (John) Correra Picanso. The family resided at 209 Charles Street. Picanso died the night of February 19th, 1917 as a result of injuries he sustained while at work in a David Ziskind & Co. junkyard, and was survived by his wife and two children.
