"To Keep Interest of Children High
In order to keep the interest on each playground at a high pitch, Assistant Supervisor Arthur Sullivan has decided to hold a contest to determine the best boy and girl athlete of each playstead. The interest and enthusiasm have lagged at some of the grounds because of the fact that the athletic teams of those grounds were not having good success. To offset this, a plan has been instituted, on that every child on the playground will have an objective to work toward. This contest will not be judged on athletic ability alone, but the elements of sportsmanship, good conduct, and good attendance at the playground sessions will be taken under consideration. Mr. Sullivan says that he is finding it very difficult to formulate a series of tasks that will designate the proper person. However, he expects to have the plans completed in a short time.
